Clubs, we miss you!
It’s time to dust off our dancing boots. Avid ravers and other night folk have come together to organize a day to emphasize the importance nightlife. S.O.H.A (System On Hold Amsterdam) is a full day’s program with rave workshops and talks at Compagnietheater on Saturday the 19th of December. Dying to feel the tremble of the bass again? Discuss the importance of nightlife in one of the talks? Join us!
Compagnietheater (a.k.a. CT) is an Amsterdam venue bringing you theater, dance, film, music, art, talks, and more often than not: the party. Our roots lie everywhere, we identify as queer and we love our urban culture. That’s why we brought together a diverse group of nightlife lovers to come up with a program that shows the importance of nightlife. Our club think tank and external curator Najah Aouaki have created a program that supports and promotes the night.
The silent suffering of the night is complex – for most people, against corona and public health, not being able to rave seems like a small sacrifice. But to regular clubbers, raving is more than just entertainment. Not being able to, is an enormous loss. The (safe) spaces and gatherings where many Amsterdammers develop themselves in music, art, race, sexuality and gender is not only of social, but also cultural, and even spiritual value. They are too important to be taken away completely!
The 19th of December, we offer a sliver of the night with S.O.H.A. (System On Hold Amsterdam): Two rave workshops (one disco music and one techno music), one performance, four drag hosts, and 2 talks with important guests from the scene. Check out the program below and take your pick!

Clubs, we missen jullie!
Tijd voor het nachtleven! Enthousiaste ravers en andere nachtvlinders zijn samengekomen om een dag te organiseren waar het belang van het nachtleven wordt besproken. S.O.H.A (System On Hold Amsterdam) is een dagvullend programma met rave workshops en lezingen in het Compagnietheater op zaterdag 19 december. Wil je het trillen van de bas weer in je lijf? Meepraten in één van de talks over het nachtleven? Kom erbij!
Compagnietheater (a.k.a. CT) is een Amsterdams cultuurhuis waar je theater, dans, film, muziek, kunst, lezingen en vaker wel dan niet het feest vindt. Onze roots liggen overal, we identificeren ons nadrukkelijk als queer en houden van onze stedelijke cultuur. Daarom hebben we een diverse groep fans van het nachtleven bij elkaar gebracht om een programma te bedenken dat het belang van het nachtleven onderstreept. De (safe) spaces en bijeenkomsten waar veel Amsterdammers zichzelf ontwikkelen in muziek, kunst, ras, seksualiteit en gender zijn niet alleen van sociale, maar ook culturele en zelfs spirituele waarde. Ze zijn te belangrijk om maar gewoon te laten!
Op 19 december bieden we een stukje van de nacht met S.O.H.A. (System On Hold Amsterdam): Twee rave-workshops (één met discomuziek en één met techno), een performance, vier drag-hosts en 2 gesprekken met belangrijke gasten uit de scene. Bekijk het onderstaande programma en maak je keuze!

PRAKTISCHE INFO
