Een krachtig statement over de menselijk neiging tot hokjes denken
Danseres, performer en choreografe Sarada Sarita brengt op geheel eigen wijze haar politieke oproep tot menselijkheid, gelijkheid en bewustzijn samen met dans. Voor dit sluitstuk van haar onderzoeksprojecten bij ISH Dance Collective laat ze zich inspireren door de theorie van Carl Jung over ‘Quaternity’ – een geometrisch figuur dat een gevoel van eenheid uitstraalt. Met de dansstijl New Way Vogue duiken de dansers in Q4: Quantified in de psyche van de mens.
Vogue ontstond begin jaren ’80 als expressief middel tegen de onderdrukking van minderheidsgroepen in New York. Met hun moves en poses verruimen de dansers onze blik op de samenleving en doorbreken de tunnelvisie waar we door onze patronen in vast zijn komen te zitten. Q4: Quantified is een statement, een zoektocht naar een breder perspectief om de hokjes waarin we vast zijn komen te zitten te doorbreken en ontstijgen.

A powerful statement about the human tendency to label
Dancer, performer and choreographer Sarada Sarita unites her call for compassion, awareness, and equality with dance in her new work Q4: Quantified. This last part of her research at ISH Dance Collective is inspired by Carl Jung’s theory on ‘Quaternity’ – a geometric figure that points to the idea of wholeness. Dancing New Way Vogue, the performers dive deep into the human psyche.
Vogue emerged in the early 1980s as an expression against oppression of minority groups in New York. With their moves, poses and shapes, the dancers stretch the structures of life and break through the maze that we get stuck in because of our daily routines. Q4: Quantified is a statement, a search for a higher perspective, where we transcend labelling and limiting people.
